ILLINOIS FAMILY ACTION ENDORSES
JOHN C. ACKERMAN FOR TAZEWELL COUNTY CLERK

MOKENA, IL: The Illinois Family Action Board of Directors is proud to announce their Endorsement of John C. Ackerman for Tazewell County Clerk. Ackerman joins 22 other Federal, State, and County candidates endorsed, including locally Darin LaHood for the 18th US House and Jeanne Ives for Illinois Governor. Ackerman is the only Tazewell County Candidate to receive an endorsement by the Illinois Family Action.

This is the second endorsement John C. Ackerman has received from major statewide Conservative Republican Political Action Committees, having previously announced the endorsement by the Illinois Policy Institute of his Strategic Plan for improving transparency in the Tazewell County Clerk's office.

In their Endorsement Announcement of Candidates for the March 20th Primary, the Illinois Family Action said "We strongly encourage you to vote in the March 20th primary election. Prior to going to the polls, make sure that you know where your candidates stand on life, marriage (defined by God), and religious freedom."

"This primary election is critical for the direction of life, marriage, and family issues in Illinois. We support these candidates because they have articulated personal commitment to pro-life and pro-marriage principles, or have a proven public-voting record that demonstrates a commitment to these bedrock principles." they stated in a previous Press Release.

The complete list of candidates Endorsed or Recommended by the Illinois Family Action can be found on their website at www.IllinoisFamilyAction.org/2018/01/2018-primary-election-picks/ or soon in their upcoming Illinois Family Institute Voter Guide. The Peoria Tri-County Chapter of the Illinois Family Institute (formally known as CheckPoint (a Coalition of Concerned Citizens)) is the local branch of this Statewide Committee covering Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford Counties.

Illinois Family Action, the non-profit and tax-exempt legislative action arm of Illinois Family Institute, was founded in 2010 to promote the common good and general welfare, primarily by means of education, including direct and grassroots lobbying. IFA works to advance public policies to protect the sanctity of human life, Christian marriage and the natural family, and other initiatives which are consistent with principles of good government. Illinois Family Action is a 501(c)(4), non-profit political advocacy and lobbying organization and is dedicated to preserving and advancing the interests of family, faith, and freedom in the political arena.

John C. Ackerman, the 2014 Republican Candidate for Tazewell County Clerk, is facing a challenge from Tazewell County Auditor Shelly Hranka of Groveland and Tazewell County Board Member Brett Grimm of Morton for the Republican Nomination in the upcoming March 20, 2018, Republican Primary Election. The winner of Republican Primary will then challenge Democrat Brittany Miller of Washington in the November 2018 General Election to replace retiring current County Clerk Christy Webb. Ackerman narrowly lost by less than 5% to the long term Democrat incumbent in the 2014 General Election.

John C. Ackerman had previously served nine years on the Tazewell County Board and three and half years on the Washington City Council. The Washington, Illinois, married father of three is the owner of Ackerman Consulting, a media relations company, and Director of Media Relations for the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago.
