Dr. Norman Standish of LaNark, Illinois, was the keynote speaker at the Community Veterans Recognition Programs that John co-organized. Dr. Standish was a civilian worker for the military during World War II, a veteran of the Korean War and is a direct descendant of Miles Standish, the military official on the Mayflower. 2009
